Ceramics NZ Mentoring Program

Ceramics NZ offers a mentoring programme which aims to connect emerging artists with the support and guidance of established and successful practioners in the ceramic field.

  • Gain personal satisfaction from enriching the emerging artists’, students’, or established artists’ current artistic needs.
  • Give back to the ceramic community through the development of our peers, emerging artists, students, and ceramic professionals for the future by personally and professionally supporting their growth.
  • Enhance coaching, feedback and existing skills.
  • Exposure to new and different styles, knowledge, and perspectives.

  • Gain attributes and understanding of clay and ceramics as it relates to professional and personal development.
  • Learn and apply clay and ceramic skills.
  • Gain access to the experiences of working and established artists for guidance in technique, shows, career opportunities, educational opportunities, apprenticing opportunities, representation, communication and networking skills.
  • Develop skills and knowledge to become a future mentor.

Ceramics Association of New Zealand

Registered as an incorporated society in 1965 by an enthusiastic group of potters in Wellington, New Zealand, Ceramics NZ has grown to become a significant international voice in New Zealand ceramics. The affiliation of about three dozen independent pottery clubs throughout New Zealand together with a number of corporate businesses greatly increases its effective membership. We are a national, not-for-profit organisation representing the interests of practising potters and ceramicists, students of ceramics and all those interested in New Zealand ceramics. We actively support and promote quality, and we encourage and support specialist ceramics education nationally.
