Visit to a Pottery Fair in France
On holiday recently, we searched out some interesting potty places to visit.

The village of St Jean-la Poterie, in Brittany, has a 1500-year tradition of pottery and clay work. Their 2 day “Fête des Lises” was held in a large park and was a festival more like a mini convention than a market.

At the entrance, a stall displayed photos of local potters and traditional methods. I was intrigued by the way the potters sat with their legs splayed at hip height while throwing on their stick propelled wheels. It looked most uncomfortable! Aimee McLeod    29-Nov-2019

Paper Firing

Life, clay and laughter. My experience at Pilliga Pottery, NSW, Australia.
We are living absolutely free, having a ball and I am doing what I love most - potting and creating.

The challenge I have for any potter who dreams about combining their love of the art with their love for life, is to come and join us! There is capacity here for more than me and as a volunteer you can stay for as little or as long as you like, come and go as you please and eat fabulous food with an eclectic bunch of like minded people. Ben Carter Interviews
Ben Carter was recently brought to New Zealand by the Ceramics Association of New Zealand.

While he was here he took various workshops around the country and interviewed various potters.

These are the podcasts of those interviews.

Ceramics Association of New Zealand

Registered as an incorporated society in 1965 by an enthusiastic group of potters in Wellington, New Zealand, Ceramics NZ has grown to become a significant international voice in New Zealand ceramics. The affiliation of about three dozen independent pottery clubs throughout New Zealand together with a number of corporate businesses greatly increases its effective membership. We are a national, not-for-profit organisation representing the interests of practising potters and ceramicists, students of ceramics and all those interested in New Zealand ceramics. We actively support and promote quality, and we encourage and support specialist ceramics education nationally.
