Hillsborough Pottery? Len Castle? Pebble vase
pebble vase

I'm trying to identify a recent aquisition and wonder if anyone can help? My first attempts led me to an American maker but I couldn't find any similar designs under their name. Then I found some information on Hillsborough pottery (Christchurch) and when I googled that, I found pictures from an old magazine (1971) which included an article on Len and Ruth Castle, with a picture of some vases that reminded me of this one. I've since looked up Len Castle and I have found some of his pots with a real resemblance to this - they have the same round shape and jagged edge design at the lip.

I would be very greatful for any information - regardless of who made the pot, I love it, I just wish I knew where it was from!

Ceramics Association of New Zealand

Registered as an incorporated society in 1965 by an enthusiastic group of potters in Wellington, New Zealand, Ceramics NZ has grown to become a significant international voice in New Zealand ceramics. The affiliation of about three dozen independent pottery clubs throughout New Zealand together with a number of corporate businesses greatly increases its effective membership. We are a national, not-for-profit organisation representing the interests of practising potters and ceramicists, students of ceramics and all those interested in New Zealand ceramics. We actively support and promote quality, and we encourage and support specialist ceramics education nationally.
