A Sydney-based DJ with plenty of major gigs under his belt is bringing his retro collection to New Zealand for the first time for a show at Auckland's Urge - and entry to the show is FREE!

DJ Rob originally started his DJ career while living in London and is now living in Sydney.

As well as spinning at high profile events in Sydney including Chunky and Bear Essentials, Rob has also played at cleverly-named events all over the world, including

Southern Hibearnation in Melbourne, Come To Daddy, Bristol Bear Fiesta and London Pride in the UK, Bearcelona in Spain, Bear-A-Licious in the US and Bearracuda in Canada.

He was also on the same bill as The Freemasons at London's XXL club.

Urge co-owner Alan Granville said it is a real honour to have Rob play at the bar.

“He has played at some major, major events around the world but chose our little bar to make his New Zealand debut.

“His forte is retro (70's, 80's, 90's) but also plays progressive house, nu-disco, electro house and progressive trance. He says he will play anything with a good pulsating beat and big vocals!”

Entry is free for the event at URGE on October 22 and you can listen to Rob's monthly podcast here
