Three gender options: they already exist

An incorrect report that Labour’s Rainbow election policy includes a push for three gender options on driver’s licences and passports has prompted transphobic disgust and outrage.

However, these changes already have happened, and under a National government. It was listed among the positive steps the government has taken when Judith Collins reported to the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva in January.

For the record, Labour’s rainbow policy says it wants to expand this to all Government documents.
