Is Massey University a homophobic employer?
« on: 23 Mar 17, 10:12:am »
I am asking this question because I have heard that in the past year 75% of the LGBT staff members in the office that provides academic support to students at Massey University have lost their jobs. A majority have been made redundant. 75% of a minority creates the impression that a homophobic purge is underway at the University. Does anyone have any further information about this?

You could ask the Tertiary Education Union http://teu.ac.nz/branches/universities/massey/

The LGBT staff I know at universities say there are lots of staff cuts and changes every year. Some staff are safer than others, depending on their roles and if they teach or support popular subjects.  Some blame government cuts, and its probably all universities not just Massey.
