Going strong since 1992, GALS are Auckland’s LGBTI friendly choir that’s as diverse as our communities are.

Meeting weekly for a dose of musical celebration and rehearsals for upcoming performances, the 70 people strong community choir welcomes one and all, there are no auditions, just dedicated and passionate performers.

The first established gay and lesbian choir in New Zealand, GALS holds two series of concerts a year and sing at community events such as the Big Gay Out and World AIDS Day, not to mention, have participated internationally in the Gay Games since 1998.

This Saturday 21 November, GALS will take you on a music journey, exploring the diversity that makes up the choir and will showcase their equally diverse musical interests. Think musical theatre, ABBA, a piece by Morten Lauridsen, comedy and a little something to get your toes tapping.

“Our next concert celebrates who we are and what we do - we are a wide range of people from different cultures and backgrounds with plenty of history, we embrace diversity, we are Proud, We're The Choir!”

With a special guest performance from Ahakoa Te Aha, a raffle and cash bar serving both wine and non-alcoholic beverages, make sure you don’t miss a great night out!
