AS/NZS ISO 13028: 2012, Information and documentation - Implementation guidelines for digitization of records

The Chief Archivist has adopted AS/NZS ISO 13028: 2012, Information and documentation - Implementation guidelines for digitization of records, as a standard under s27 of the Public Records Act 2005.

AS/NZS ISO 13028: 2012 is the Chief Archivist’s expert guidance for the design and management of digitisation processes capable of producing functionally equivalent digitised public and local authority records.

 

AS/NZS ISO 13028: 2012 is a joint Standards Australia – Standards New Zealand standard. It is an identical adoption of ISO/TR 13028: 2010, which itself was based on Archives New Zealand revoked Digitisation Standard (S6).

Status
AS/NZS ISO 13028: 2012 is a discretionary standard.
 

What it replaces
AS/NZS ISO 13028: 2012 replaces the Digitisation Standard (S6), which was issued in 2007.

AS/NZS ISO 13028: 2012 is available from the Standards New Zealand website. Instructions for accessing the standard are published below.

 

AS/NZS ISO 13028: 2012 is free for public offices and local authorities to access. Archives New Zealand will monitor access to ensure reasonable use.
