Rainbow Cultural Competency Workshop

Content covered:

  • The differences between sex, gender, and sexuality
  • The variety and fluidity of gender and sexual identities (e.g., queer and trans* identities)
  • Attraction, and sexual attraction, including to members of more than one sex.
  • The sexual development for young people who are intersex
  • “Coming out” with a diverse gender or sexual identity
  • Perspectives about cultural forms of sexuality and gender identities (including Takataapui and Fa’afafine identities)

Our educators will:

  • Introduce RainbowYOUTH & it’s services
  • Share expertise and knowledge of LGBT issues in Aotearoa
  • Enrich your skills and language of sex, gender and sexuality diversity
  • Offer practical tips for creating a rainbow-friendly environment
  • Provide educational resources and connections to community organisations

Target audience:

Anyone who works with LGBTIQ young people: teachers, social workers, youth workers, counsellors, medical professionals etc.


  • $500 (+ GST) for an in-service 3 hour workshop to a staff team
  • $375 (+ GST) for NGO’s & charitable services
  • $150 (+ GST) for a one hour one-on-one session
