Ivy Bar

Wellington's Premier Gay Bar and night spot

Located under Cuba St in the old basement of the former James Smith Department store, the Ivy is Wellington's best kept secret.
Designed by Roger Walker, Ivy is adorned with beautiful fabrics, walls of solid old brick, and bottles of booze as far as the eye can see - it is a haven away from the madness of the world above.
Expect delicious tapas, fabulous cocktails designed by award-winning cocktail guru Jason Clark, big ol' jugs of beer, cosey nooks and crannies and of course a wonderful assortment of amazing people.
It's all a little bit fancy and a whole lot of fun.
Love to see you there!

NZSO - New Zealand Symphony Orchestra

The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is this country’s national full size, fulltime professional orchestra. One of the world’s oldest national symphony orchestras, they’ve been delighting audiences with memorable concerts and recordings since 1946.

They’re continually on the road, touring as many as 100 symphonic concerts as well as dozens of dedicated concerts for children and small communities each year. While they present all our main programmes in Auckland and Wellington, they tour New Zealand extensively.

They perform in concert halls, schools, marae, hospitals, parks, rest homes and even on railway platforms. You’ll hear them on radio, television, in movies and on CD. You can download their music and keep up with them on Facebook and Twitter. Their extensive Community and Education programmes take their music to children and young people up and down New Zealand, giving them a chance to get up close and personal with our players and inspire them towards a life-long love of music.

Unity Books Wellington

Multi-award-winning indie booksellers, Unity not only has the best selection of LGBTI literature, but a wide range of all books, especially New Zealand literature. Our website is pretty good as well.

At Unity we endeavour to provide the best service and the best selection, yet we cannot (sadly) stock all books ever written so we also pride ourselves on hunting for obscure, imaginative and underrated titles that you bring to our attention.

If you have a query about a book, want to place an order or simply pick our brains about some aspect of the literary world, make contact and we will do what we can to help.
