Deputy Environment Commissioner Christchurch May 2016
The Attorney-General is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons for appointment as a part-time Deputy Environment Commissioner based in Christchurch.
The Environment Court is a specialist Court with jurisdiction over environmental and resource management matters.
Deputy Commissioners are appointed for terms not exceeding 5 years and may be reappointed.
For these appointments, skills in planning, engineering, ecology and Māori cultural matters, including Tikanga, would be useful to the Court. You will also bring familiarity with the Resource Management Act and strong mediation experience. Importantly, you will possess excellent communication skills, mental agility and self confidence.
