The musician will take the stage at the free community event on 18 January in Wellington’s Civic Square.
Event co-chair Greig Wilson says Moa is excited about the theme of celebrating marriage equality.
“Anika has been a vocal advocate for gay marriage and helped campaign for equal rights for the gay community,” he says.
“She had a civil union in February 2010 and she and her wife Azaria have beautiful twin sons. She is a family-focused person, not to mention a brilliant performer, and we are very lucky she has agreed to play at Out in the Square next January.”
