By Jacqui Stanford - 29th May 2015

Parties are coming to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch this Queen's Birthday Weekend, while the flying Falcons are playing a match in the capital. Here's your guide to what's on.

Family Bar's Queen's Birthday special

Auckland's gay nightclub Family Bar has special Australian guest Maxi Shields performing on Friday and Saturday nights this weekend, along with Felicia Thunderthighs, Wilma Balls-Drop and host Miss Ribena – with DJ James pumping music to the dancefloor. Family Downunder will be hosted by Bim Wilkinson and Aaron Von Phillippe with Wanda Lamour on the decks.

On Sunday night the club will have ‘hot hot hot' oiled male strippers.

Also showing on Saturday is a short film by talented Auckland couple Andy Jalfon and Skot Barnett, Te Manu Ahi, which follows the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and Atamira Dance Company as they collaborate to produce a stage spectacle. It's on at Q Theatre at 10.30am.

On Sunday, To Russia with Love is screening – it's about the build-up to the Sochi Olympics and features New Zealand's own Blake Skjellerup. Read more here.
