Pride at Garnet Station

Posted in: Events
By staff - 11th February 2015

Auckland café Garnet Station has a banquet of Auckland Pride Festival events on in its cute ‘tiny theatre’, including art, Dykes on Mics and speed dating for lesbians!

You can also book a table to wine and dine before the night’s entertainment. Just call 09 360 3397.

Wild Blue Yonder

An autobiographical NZ play with boy on boy, and hetero action. Well written by a couple of local friends, a gay artist played by Duncan Allan and a solo mum poet played by Maxine Fleming, in the Summer of 1999 to the sounds of Dusty Springfield.

Verity George has been type cast as their best friend Poppy the cafe owner who dislikes Tom Sainsbury's itinerant character Duane, a dubious butch thief. Up and coming actor Edwin Beats plays Luke the new romantic poet. It's a great combination of funny and poignant.

Directed by Andrea Kelland.

Now till 14 February, 8pm, $25/$20

While the exhibition is on, PulseArt members will be at Garnet Station to talk with viewers.
