Marama Fox

Māori Party candidate for
Ikaroa Rāwhiti

Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Porou

Marama is an experienced educational leader, who has taught at kohanga reo, kura kaupapa Maori, wharekura, public secondary schooling, and more recently as an advisor in the Ministry of Education.

Throughout her career she has developed a flair in project management; in critical thinking, in relationship management; communication; leadership and strategic analysis – all transferable skills for the parliamentary arena. We are very excited about the quality representation she will offer for Ikaroa Rawhiti.

Over the last few years her role in promoting Ka Hikitia, and Tataiako has continued to motivate her to look closely at the concept of transformation- of Maori succeeding as Maori.

Marama is a proud mama of nine children and Whanau Ora has always resonated with her whanau, as a model for breeding success.

Marama wants to dedicate the best years of her career to truly embedding Whanau Ora into the national psyche – and Ikaroa Rawhiti is the ideal environment to place her energy.

    Tena Koe Marama,

I am trying to bring together a meet the candidates evening on Wednesday 20 August, 7-9pm at St Joseph’s School hall, Hastings. It would involve some time for you to talk about what you considered important in the up-coming election and some questions given well ahead of the meeting. At the moment we have Anna Lork, Craig Foss and Chris Perley. It would be great to have you.

    Hi Marama,
Just want to say I thought you spoke really well at the Child Poverty Forum last night. Its hard to convince an audience of who you are in the three minutes you all had without just sounding like a politician electioneering, and I thought you came across as genuine, funny and dedicated to the cause of both New Zealand and our children. Unfortunately I can’t vote for where you are standing but if I could I would! Keep up the good work!
