The Lowdown - Helping NZ youth with depression.

Welcome to The Lowdown - If you're a young Kiwi and you are experiencing depression or you think you or a friend is experiencing depression, The Lowdown is a good place to be. Here you'll find info on depression and its symptoms, you'll find out how common it is amongst young people in New Zealand and advice on what to do if you think you or a friend are experiencing depression.

You can hear from musicians, celebrities and everyday people sharing their own personal experiences with depression. They discuss subjects like anxiety, bullying, sexuality, drugs and alcohol which can all be influencing factors in someone experiencing depression. You can take the self-test to help determine if you may be experiencing depression and learn more about typical symptoms of depression.

If you have any questions or you want to talk to someone about how you're feeling, you can text message or email The Lowdown team in the Chat section. This is a safe and secure place where you can let all your feelings out and get free advice from a professional team who are here to help.

And when you're done exploring the site you can chill and listen to some great kiwi music from artists featured on the site.

So what are you waiting for? If you think you or a friend may be experiencing depression, you're not alone. Get to a better place - here, at The Lowdown!
