The Jury Prize

Edinburgh International Film Festival has seen some pioneering cinema in its 65 years. This year, audiences saw another first: short films shot on a phone. Eight pocket-sized productions got a big screen premiere and one picked up the Nokia Shorts 2011 Jury prize. Congratulations to all these creative filmmakers for trying something new.

Mobile Motion Pictures

We’ve made a small contribution to your idea. Pocket-size Nokia N8 adds a new dimension to mobile HD filmmaking. But like any advance in camera technology, it’s waiting for artists willing to try something new. That’s why we’re putting up a top prize of $10,000, and premieres at the Edinburgh Film Festival for all the finalists of Nokia Shorts 2011.
