New carer infopacks!
Carer Info Pack

Be one of the first carers to request our infopacks for carers. They contain the Government's updated Guide for Carers, the latest issue of Family Care magazine, plus a range of other resources we think all carers should have. These packs will evolve over time. We hope they are useful to carers of any age or caring situation. Organisations and health professionals: please request packs for carers in your networks. Our 'foundation packs' can be regionalised, localised, or tailored for your community by adding your own information! They are attractive, and ready to post with your label ... or simply give them to the carers you support. As the packs are currently unfunded, we ask for a koha to cover courier costs for bulk requests. Email sara@carers.net.nz or phone 0800 777 797 to request infopacks. If you just want Guides please phone the national helpline 0800 777 797 ... these are completely free and for bulk orders we can arrange free delivery.

Carer Wellbeing & Learning: What do you think?

Have you attended any carer learning events or courses? Are you interested to know more about opportunities for carer wellbeing and learning? If you are a family carer, please have your say in our national consultation about carer learning. Your feedback will help to shape future programmes for carers! All carers who complete our online survey will go into a random draw for a $500 prize.  Click here to go through to the survey!  Carers can also give their feedback by phone via our helpline:  (0800) 777 797.

Earthquake assistance for carers

Carers NZ extends its heartfelt sympathy to the people of Christchurch and surrounding areas. We would like family carers to know that we are standing by to help however we can. We are concerned about how those with existing caring responsibilities are faring with disruption to support and services. And we are all too aware that following the earthquake many people have received serious injuries, and will rely on family care during their recovery. If you are a carer, or know a carer, who needs information and support, contact our national helpline to request a free infopack. To learn about available government supports and services, click here.
