Welcome to the 2011 Out Takes Reel Queer Film Festival
What a year it’s been! With natural disasters and nuclear meltdown providing the icing on top of the recession cake, we could sure all do with a break from it all. And what better way to take time out than to savour the best queer film making the world has to offer.
And it’s been a bumper year for queer film – the diversity and quality of the films submitted this year had the Reel Queer team debating hard and making some tough decisions on what to include.
Regency lesbians, gay zombies, brave soldier girls and queer terrorists take their place in a line-up of some of the most engaging and well made features, documentaries and shorts we’ve ever screened. So plan your schedules early, because we’re sure you’re going to want to see plenty of what’s on offer.
As always, a huge vote of thanks from us to all our advertisers and sponsors, without whom the festival couldn’t succeed. We hope you enjoy every minute of Out Takes 2011 – don’t forget to vote for the audience awards!

Reel Queer Inc is now a registered charity
In August 2009 Reel Queer Inc were registered as a charity with the Charities Commission. The Reel Queer team hope that our new status as a registered charity will open new funding opportunities for Out Takes in the future.
