Games Anyone?

Posted by: un-pc lesbian

Facebook keeps telling me that the registration for the Outgames opens on the weekend, so I have finally looked at the site to see what is available, or to be more exact, what the running categories are. I did get a bit sidetracked with the dancesport section, but as there is no category for staying up all night and dancing non stop to house music, I guess I won’t be entering there.

A certain Auckland Lesbian about town (see comment section on my first post) has told me she is going to enter the swimming in the Nana age bracket, as it is the only thing useful she can find to do with her half century. I thought well if [insert name of old unit of currency] can do it, so can I!

I’ve never participated in this type of event before, and as much as I love running as said below, I do it for vanity reasons not competition. I have done the Round the Bays fun run before and was under the impression the Outgames would be about as competitive as that. Then I saw the games advertisement at the opening of Outtakes. There are a lot of very athletic looking people with well cut bodies in that ad, who look like they take it all Very Seriously.

I am now torn. I’m still going to enter, but I see there is a novice and an experienced running category so I don’t know which box to tick, and I assume I can’t use normal practice of covering all options and ticking both. So suggestions anyone??

Also, and yes I am being pedantic and picky, why are the registration categories binary gender? When rough trade toy boi enters will he be able to enter under both genders? Seems fair to me. Thoughts anyone?

“… I don’t know which box to tick.”…..sure you do! And I expect you’ll run a personal best…..if only to make sure you don’t lose sight of those “cut bodies”.

but..but….sigh……. I suppose one should factor in course advantage as well, as it is on a route I regularly run. Can’t I just be the fastest in the slow group?

Not entering out of protest for the lack of other gender options. Even though I am most definitly M, it’s really not fair on those who don’t fit either of the boxes. It’s both surprised and disappointed that the organisers of the Out Games sucked so much when they wrote the entry form.

I thought the ad for the Wellington Outgames REALLY seriously sucked - BIG TIME. It was soooo boring! No razz or pizazz to it. Very disappointed, I am. BUT, I dance :) I stay up all night; I dance non-stop to house music and I for sure will be entering the dancesport comp. I’ll be the one with mascara dripping down my cheeks while I rumba round the dance floor hehehe :)

Didn’t really look at the ad as a piece of work, was just looking at people I knew, and the uber hot body of the boy swimmer.

ooOOOOOo remind me to be in the audience at the rumba section. Pre training event coming up in July at the Devious Freeze party. Even tho I’m not entering the dance, I am attending the training!
