We're keeping track of all the parties, events and festivals confirmed in what looks set to be a very busy 2010!

Here's what's confirmed so far. We've also added key dates from across the Tasman, for those lucky people planning a holiday. Links are provided to take you to further info...


UPDATED 19 FEBRUARY 2010

Sat 23 January - Sat 6 February: Wellington's Proud Festival, kicking off with Out in the Square outdoor LGBT festival day on Sat 23 January in Civic Square. The raindate is Sun 24 Jan.

Sat 23 January: Wellington's Devious dance party, featuring International Mardi Gras DJs Jimmy Dee, Sandi HotRod and Kitty Glitter, and the return of the city's drag diva Pollyfilla. Part of the capital's Proud Festival.

Sat 6 - Fri 19 February: Auckland's OurFest LGBT community new events festival.

Sun 14 February: Big Gay Out 2010, Auckland's popular annual LGBT picnic day, Coyle Park, Point Chevalier. Featuring Annie Crummer on stage along with many special guest entertainers. Join us at GayNZ.com's stall!

Wed 17 - Sun 21 February: Atlantis Cruiseline's ship arrives in New Zealand, with around 1,400 gay men on board. It sails from Auckland on 17 Feb, arrives in Wellington on Fri 19, then Christchurch Saturday 20, then Dunedin on Sunday 21 Feb, before heading to Australia.

Friday 19 February: OurFest Awards Night. An elaborate awards ceremony honouring LGBT community spirit and recognising achievement. MC Michele A' Court will host the night of dinner, awards and entertainment at the ASB Lounge in Eden Park.

Sun 21 - Sun 28 February: Bear New Zealand, featuring a BBQ at K' Road's Kamo bar, a Bear Drag night at Caluzzi, an UnderBear party at Urge bar, the Mr. Urge New Zealand Bear pageant and a special Tri-Nations Dance Party featuring DJs from the US, New Zealand and Australia.

Mon 22 February: OUTLine's annual Tennis Tournament, 6pm at Westend Tennis Club, Cox’s Bay. Fun tennis for all abilities and persuasions, prizes, bar and BBQ.

 

Fri 26 February: Air New Zealand's Pink Flight from Auckland Airport to Sydney with Buckwheat and her crew. SOLD OUT. 

 

Sat 27 February: Sydney's Mardi Gras Parade

Sun 28 February: Sydney's Harbour Party , and the Topp Twins perform with Don McGlashan at Auckland Zoo.

Sat 6 March: Sydney's Mardi Gras Party - Australasia's biggest LGBT celebration, and Heroes Out West lesbian evening of entertainment in West Auckland.

Sat 6 & Sun 7 March: Auckland's annual Heroic Gardens tour, raising money for Hospice NZ.

Fri 12 - Sat 20 March: Auckland's Aroha Festival, with Takataapui, Japanese, Indonesian and Hawaiian events. The Festival begins with Mika's elaborate Põ - A Tribal Pop Opera show on Friday 12 March at the Aotea Centre.

Sat 13 March: Auckland's Pasifika Festival begins.

Sat 13 & Sun 14 March: Lady Gaga's two Auckland concerts at the Vector Arena.

Fri 2 - Sun 4 April (Easter): Out and Loud Choral Festival, uniting LGBT choirs from across Australasia for a diverse musical showcase.

From 22 April: RENT starring Annie Crummer, at Auckland's Civic Theatre.

Wed 24 April: Julian Clary's one-night Lord of the Mince show at the Auckland Town Hall.

End of April: The Gay Auckland Business Association's Auction and Awards night (details to be confirmed).

Mon 10 - Sun 16 May: Christchurch Pride Week, featuring the opening event, family/fair day, women's night and a closing party among many other LGBT community events.

Thur 13 - Sun 23 May: Avenue Q musical puppet show on at Auckland's Civic Theatre.

May - June: Out Takes Film Festival, a collection of LGBT film screenings in Auckland and Wellington, but not in Christchurch in 2010.

Sat 6 November: Queen of the Whole Universe, a huge annual fundraising drag pageant at Auckland's Aotea Centre.

Sat 27 November: Cartier Trust's Masquerade Ball, Cartier's main fundraiser of 2010, at Auckland's St. Matthew-in-the-City church.
