So im plannin on moving to auckland, as ive been sitting around thinking about it for the past year but after such an amazing birthday weekend its such kickstarted my brain again (still 1 thought at a time though....)

thought id get some feedback from the locals.

Good areas/bad areas on central auckland?
What kind of prices are we looking at for a central flat/apartment?

etc

And please no 'aucklands shit'. I know exactly what i want it for, and its the only place in nz that will suffice.

about time
you should live in the cbd - there are lots of good deals to be found - but you need to look via tertiary portals [AU/AUT] since there is lots of fluidity in terms of people moving in/out and if you can move in quickly you can get a good price [lots of times students are desperate for an extra flatmate fast]
make sure you have set things up in terms of what you are going to do before you make the move, but maybe stay with a friend at first and look for long-term accommodation once you are here

Your income will be the biggest decider for where you get to live. There all sorts of great places, but it depends on how much you want to fork out in rent. I would say don't think of the Shore or further west than Pt Chev.

I would say, only go from cbd, and south wards, and maybe a little to the east or west of there. But mostly south of cbd.  Smile

Central appartments are fairly cheap at the moment Fluffs.  You should live around K Road because it's where you're going to be "living" and if you've got the income to live on your own, you can get a good 1 bed around here for $250 a week.
