The venue, downstairs from gay Club Ivy on Dixon Street, often hosts special LGBT events on Saturday nights.

"After nearly a year of development, hard work, ups and downs and a whole lot of gigs we are totally stoked to be honoured with this award," say the Garden Club crew.

"We'd like to thank all the fans and punters that have supported The Garden Club but would specially like to thank all the promoters and artists that are so integral to our success.

"We can't wait to see what the next twelve months has in store for us and we look forward to hosting many more shows for you all to enjoy!"

The Garden Club has just announced it will host a new regular Funhouse Cabaret night starting on Saturday 10 October, featuring food and shows.
