There are two fundamental reasons for our present electricity problems. First, and this is where we differ from nearly all other countries, we are heavily reliant on hydro generation and we have low storage capacity. To meet our needs, our electricity generation system requires regular rainfall. When it doesn't rain, the ability of our generation system to supply our needs is heavily compromised.
