I am writing to you regarding some information's.

My name is Nikola, and I coming from Croatia, Europe.

It is an small Balkan country, ex Communism state.

We were in war with the Serbia...

so...I am interested moving to New Zeland...

My boyfriend is an Serb and that is something the worst that can happen here, gay and dating an Serb..we have sooo much problems here, so we are interested moving to New Zealand.

Are the gay marriages official, and how we can find an job and citizenship?

Please if you able to help us to escape from this hell on earth!

Here's my reply... and please do add to this with your advice:

Thanks for your email!

I'm sure you will like it if you come to New Zealand. People are quite accepting of gay people these days, especially in our main cities. We have Civil Unions, which is the same legally as a gay ‘marriage’.

Here's some info which might help:

I'll also pop your inquiry online in case others have some advice.

Keep in touch!

I always found people from the Balkans very polite Smile

Hope they will be happy here.

Though its got a bad history which anyone who watched the news in the 1990's would know.
