We know it's a cliché but us culture queens here at GayNZ.com love our diva singers – and while Aucklanders Should Be So Lucky to see a certain Minogue sister visit next week, Wellingtonians are also getting a chance to experience a glamorous and much-loved entertainer.

A long-time supporter of the community who adores her – she's often sung for free at Rainbow Youth fundraisers – Jennifer Ward-Lealand returns to Downstage with her latest cabaret show The Look of Love, and is sure to excite the capital's gay culture vultures.

The new cabaret show celebrates love in all its guises, featuring songs by Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim, Burt Bacharach, Jacques Brel, Kris Kristofferson, George Harrison and others.

Musical director and pianist Grant Winterburn, bassist Aaron Coddel and lighting designer Andrew Malmo join Jennifer for a sophisticated night of song.

Wellington's Downstage begins a strictly limited season of Jennifer Ward-Lealand in The Look of Love with only 10 performances from 8 to 18 December at 8pm.

Shown below is a short clip from the show, with a link to the Downstage website for bookings and further information.
