A new group has started up;

TRANZform - 0277 639 793 -

TRANZform is a group for young people* who identify as transgender, genderqueer, non-gendered, questioning and their allies.
*young people in this case is 30ish and under

We meet the second Tuesday of the month, for yarns, support, food and mischief making.

Our first meeting is in November

Why did we start TRANZform? Brooklynne and hannah Ho noticed a gap in the community that wasn't being served. Both come from youth service backgrounds, and saw that while there were resources for queer youth, that trans youth were often left with a choice between queer youth space (with predominantly GLB bio boys and girls) or an older trans space. While those are both wonderful spaces, they felt that the trans and genderqueer youth of Te Whanganui a Tara/Wgtn, needed a space that served their needs and beings more fully. It is their hope that TRANZform is that space, and will provide support and aid in the growth of the trans youth community.

TRANZform is facilitated by hannah Ho and Brooklynne.

hannah Ho is genderqueer creature who is intrigued by how gender is created, performed and policed. Her ancestors are from Canton and Kuala Lumpur. She lives in Te Whanganui a Tara/Wgtn, likes rock-climbing and eating food.

Brooklynne is a Potawatomi girl-shaped-thing, living in Wellington, calls home San Francisco. but hails from Michigan in the US. She has been active in the trans community in all three regions for the past 9 or more years, including working for the only trans youth Non-Profit that was run by trans youth(under 26). She like singing loudly in the shower when no one is home and dancing in her underwear to cheesy music, pama mine'.

I'm sorry that you're psychotic but just make an effort.
