This just came through on email:

In 2005, OUT THERE! put out a booklet for schools called Safety in Our Schools to help New Zealand high schools to “be inclusive of sexuality and gender diversity.” It meant to include GLBTQ students and staff, students and staff who might be perceived as GLBTQ, and gender diverse students and staff.

We’re doing some research for the Otago University Students’ Association and OUT THERE! about how the suggestions in the booklet have played out in Dunedin’s high schools. To find out, we want to know what you think.

We’re looking to hear from Dunedin school-age youth (whether or not you’re in school) of all sexualities (straight as well as GLBTQ) and all genders (and also parents teachers/general staff). Anything you say will be totally confidential.

If you’re interested in helping out with the research, email us at q.youth@ousa.org.nz, or ring us on 03 479 5445. And please let your friends know, too!

Thanks!
