Could we have a sticky in here with some how-tos?

like:

How do you download and post an image not already on the internet?
and; How come some images are clickable/expandable, and others not?

It would save us having to ask Exc every time we wanna do soomething...

Hi Clasp

I'll reply to you this evening when I get home..
Who's "Exc"?...
Nobody has actually ever asked for any "how to's" outside of the normal Help system - but please hang on until this evening  BigGrin

Cheers

Hey Neilo,

Clasp 2.0 could be meaning 'eXctrik' but then maybe not....  Smile

Yep a nice 'list of's..........' would be good....

Also explaining about how many posts one needs to be able to give out 'Karma'...
How many posts one needs to be able to send a 'private message' etc etc

Just the usual newbie types of questions... all in one thread.

Posting privileges

As your post count increases, what you are able to do on the forum changes. At the moment, there is

- 50 Posts - You're able to edit other peoples karma
- 100 Posts - Private Message limit is removed

How to post an image on the forum

Make sure the image has been uploaded to the web. If you, there are free services like www.imageshack.us which you can use. www.flickr.com is awesome too! If you are using someone one elses images, make sure its okay with them. "Bandwidth Theft" is a big no no.

Just click the in the message tool bar.
Code:
[img][/img]

Will appear in the text area. Place the URL of the picture between the tags. Like so;
Code:
[img]http://www.website.tld/picture.ext[/img]

How to post a Youtube video on the forum

Just like posting a picture - but you are looking for the #Invalid YouTube Link# button.

How to create a link to another website

There are a couple of options of linking to a site.

You can just type in the url. Or alternatively click the .

Code:
[url][/url]

This is the fun part; You will see within the tag, a = has been added and the URL appears. Between the tags is what i want to appear as the link (eg: A link to my website)

Code:
[url=http://www.website.tld]A link to my website[/url]

Clasp, you upload it TO the Internet...

Upload it to flickr, for example - really easy signup and upload system - then, once it is uploaded you take the Url and use it like you would any other pic on the net.....

Thanks eXctrik.

I can recommend going to Profile/Look and Layout Preferences and then changing the theme to Dilber Multicolour. It 'turns the Forum lights on', and then you even change its colours with a range of options. There are a number of subtle feature/layout changes too, which you may like.

And don't forget our 'Dildoh' smiley set is available via that Look and Layout Preferences screen too... it's pretty unique!

I have found:

Another way to post images to the forum:

When replying, click on 'Additional Options' below the text input field, and choose a file from your own computer.

It will look like this:  (but wont show up when you preview the post)

[and thus, finally, my original question is fully answered- these are the 'clickable' images that open full size in a separate window.]
