Digital Strategy Community Partnership Fund

The Community Partnership Fund is part of the Government's Digital Strategy. This is an action plan to make New Zealand a world leader in using information and communication technology (ICT).

The Community Partnership Fund is a contestable fund aimed at not-for-profit ICT projects that help strengthen communities. Its focus is on projects that help communities with ICT content, connection, capability and skills to use ICT.

Projects must be community driven and have partners that will provide financial or in-kind contributions that match or exceed the funding applied for. Applications must show how the project will be sustained after funding from the Community Partnership Fund has ceased.

How to Apply
Applications for funding will be considered in three levels:
  • up to $5,000
  • $5,001 to $100,000
  • $100,001 and over
Applications will follow a two-stage process. Applicants will be able to submit an Expression of Interest that provides a preliminary overview of their proposed project and that demonstrates an ability to meet the eligibility requirements for the Fund. Eligible applications will then be ranked and successful applicants will be invited to submit a comprehensive application.

The Fund will favour projects that can grow and link with others around New Zealand with ideas for:
  • smart use of ICT in communities
  • smart ways to increase confidence in using computers
  • smart ways to increase ICT skills
  • smart ways to digitise and link content and use applications across communities and New Zealand
  • smart planning for sustainability at the end of the funding.
