International Despatch of Passports from the London Office
If you are applying to our London office for your passport from outside of the United Kingdom, the following methods of despatch are available to you:
This is the standard method of despatch and the cost is already covered in your passport fee. Applicants should note however, the Royal mail (United Kingdom) cannot offer any guarantee of delivery times and you should allow up to 3 weeks for delivery.
Courier using our account
International courier is the quickest and most secure method of delivery. This includes deliveries to USA / North America. The cost of the courier service is in addition to your passport fee. The best method of organising a courier for your passport is to authorise the London Office to take the courier fee from your credit card / switch card. If you wish to use this option simply enclose a note with your application form. Our main courier company is DHL and their range of courier rates is as follows:
The above courier zone charges apply to courier packs up to 0.5kg and extra charges apply to any excess weight (packs containing additional passports).
Please note that the courier rates are liable to change as a result of additional fuel surcharges or changes to exchange rates.
Delivery of courier packs
The London Office will facilitate the uplifting of your courier pack and, on request, provide the Airway Bill number (AWB assigned to your pack) to enable you to track the progress of the courier pack. You can do this by accessing the DHL web site or by contacting the nearest DHL Office and quoting your AWB number. The London Passport staff will not contact DHL direct about the progress or delivery timeframe of your courier pack.
Courier using your account
Because of past problems in reconciling accounts with the various international courier companies, the London Office will no longer accept own account or pre paid courier packs including those from FEDEX, TNT, UPS etc.
