Donations to amateur sports teams and clubs , competing in recognised leagues and tournaments. Grants only issued to sports teams and clubs which are formally established and/or legally constituted. Grants issued for actual and reasonable travel expenses for groups participating in tournaments with kindred groups, sports equipment, playing uniforms and ground hire. No grant shall be issued to any player or team competing on a professional basis.

Donations to recognised charitable organisations (e.g. Plunket or Red Cross) and/or bona fide non profit community organistaions to assist those groups to provide targetted assistance to those in need in areas of health, relief of poverty, social services and the like. Examples would include payment of fees to enable riding for the disabled, guide dog sponsorship, scout or guiding groups, Kapa Haka or cultural groups and the like.

Donations to schools and other educational institutes to assist with the provision of equipment or services that foster the continuous learning and development of youth and adult students. Examples would include the provision of computers groups and the like, establishing academic scholarships and the like.

No grant shall be issued to any party which will result in commercial advantage, either directly or indirectly, to any gaming machine sites or to any other party.

Foster, promote and safeguard the Amateur game of lawn bowls throughout the Auckland District;

Support the development of the Trust and the Amateur clubs affiliated to Auckland Bowls Incorporated;

Maintain lawn bowls clubs and facilities throughout the Auckland District and generally provide members with the services, use, conveniences and advantages associated with lawn bowls clubs, playing facilities and centres;

Foster, promote and grow the game of lawn bowls in the Auckland District through the support and development of activities in the areas of Administration, Junior Development Bowls, Age Grade Bowls, Collegiate Bowls, Coaching, Games Officials, Playing formats, Membership growth, facility improvement and through affiliation with Bowls New Zealand Incorporated and do or join in doing all things to encourage the development of the Amateur game of lawn bowls;

Establish and maintain bowling greens and other playing areas, and build or otherwise provide pavilions, bowling clubhouses, sheds, workshops, shelters and other buildings and conveniences required for the game of lawn bowls. And equip, furnish and maintain the same respectively for the benefit and convenience of Auckland Bowls Incorporated and its clubs;

To provide support by financial assistance to any amateur game or sport where the game or sport is conducted for the benefit of the general public, and through the support and development of activities in the areas of Administration, Junior Development, Collegiate Sport, Coaching, Sports Officials such as referees and umpires, Playing formats, Membership growth and facility and field improvement;

All activities refer to the Amateur game of Lawn Bowls. Under no circumstances would any gaming machine proceeds or other trust fund proceeds of the charitable trust be used for any professional activities.

Promotion of national age group tournaments for Primary, intermediate and secondary schools as well as other junior, amateur and non-professional players and teams.
Costs associated with outfitting junior, amateur and non-professional sporting teams with actual and necessary sporting equipment, actual and reasonable coaching expenses for amateur and non-professional players and actual, reasonable and necessary travel and accommodation expenses to and from tournaments.
Promotion of any particular sport, through the provision of actual and necessary playing and training equipment and actual and reasonable travel and accommodation expenses for children, coaches and supervisors (whose primary role is to supervise these children) while away competing in recognised tournaments.
Assistance to sporting adjuncts within junior and amateur teams, local clubs and other non-professional representative teams through the provision of various sporting equipment unique to the sport. Such equipment may include a players playing and training apparel, protective equipment, boots, running shoes, mouth guards, cones, tackle pads and bags, instruction booklets, posters, stickers and other club equipment such as stop watches, weight lifting equipment and the like. Note: This excludes dress uniforms and payments for professional sporting teams and/or players directly or indirectly.
To assist bona fide organisations in the community such as kindergartens, schools, youth groups and recognised charities such as The Salvation Army and the like, with funding for specific projects or purposes, or the running of community events.
To assist anti problem gaming and anti drink driving organisations and initiatives.
To assist cultural pursuits such as youth orchestras.
To provide for the funding of research, projects and equipment that improves the general health and well being of New Zealand communities. The results of any research are to be generally available for the public good.
