Local Government Commission

Service Overview
The Department of Internal Affairs provides administrative support to the Local Government Commission.

The Local Government Commission is an independent statutory body, whose role includes:

  • making decisions on the structure of local government
  • reporting on, and make recommendations to the Minister of Local Government on matters relating to local government.
