Lottery Welfare

Grants to voluntary organisations providing welfare services in the community, to pay for such things as:

  • salaries and training
  • running costs
  • volunteer expenses
  • information resources, such as pamphlets and books
  • travel within New Zealand.
The national committee does not consider applications for vehicles, but a subcommittee considers those for Individuals with Disabilities.

The Lottery Welfare Distribution Committee meets nationally three times a year - March or April, August and November, and regionally five times a year - February, April, June, August and October. Closing dates for applications are eight weeks before each meeting. Check here for application closing dates and Distribution Committee meeting dates for 2003.
