Lottery Seniors

Lottery Seniors grants enhance the wellbeing of older people, especially by helping them to remain active in their own communities. (A group qualifies as "older people" when at least half of its client-base is over the age of 60.)

Lottery Seniors grants may be used for:

  • salaries
  • administration costs
  • volunteer expenses (usually mileage)
  • activity resources, such as craft materials, board games, sound systems
  • outings and overnight trips
  • information resources, such as regular newsletters and websites
  • building maintenance, furniture and furnishings
  • national reunions, significant local events
  • and others: check with our Freephone 0800 824 824 (New Zealand only) to find out more.

The Lottery Seniors Committee meets four times a year - March, June, August and November. Closing dates for applications are eight to 12 weeks before each meeting. Check here for application closing dates and Distribution Committee meeting dates for 2003.
